Lotus has teamed up with an Electric Car company called ZAP (http://www.zapworld.com) to produce the worlds first SUV electric car, ZAP-X!

It’s quite impressive… 0-60 in 4.8 sec, top speed 155mph, in-wheel electic motors, expected range of 350 miles. China’s Youngman Automotive Group is producing the prototypes which should be delivered as early as Jan 2008. Then there should be 2-3 months of testing before going into mass production. This slates the earliest release date of late Summer 2008.

In the financial realm, investors can turn to ZAAP.OB as a possible way to try and catch the new electric car trend. The stock is trading at $0.90 currently and fluctuates up to ~$1.10 and then back down. You can trade the cycle or hold of the big winnings.
